"to make a killing in --ing"と言う表現もありますね。

「生活するために書く人もいる。楽しみのために書く人もいる。常に書いているからほかに選択肢がない人や、ブログを書いていなかったら、本や日記を書いたり、（もし私みたいだったら）家に帰って書き留めるまで忘れちゃ困るアイディアを腕に走り書きする。それが書くということで、ブログはただの書くことの一つの反復作業。書くことは絶対に死なない。」

「収益につながるプロモーションのためのブログを書くこと」は死んだかもしれないけど、「書きたいことを自由に書くブログ」は生き続けるということでしょうか。
