「ハーバード大学のディベートチームが囚人チームに負ける」

以下がコメント：
"how are you gonna debate against a killer?"  「人殺し対してどうやってディベートするんだよ？」
"I know. You ain't got shit to say. They'd be too scared."　「だよな。言うことなんてねーよ。怖すぎるじゃねか。」

ディベートのテーマは・・・
"They were debating about public schools in the United States should have the ability to deny enrollment to undocumented students. "
「アメリカの公立学校は証拠書類のない学生（不法滞在）の入学を拒否する力を持つべきか」ということについてディベートをしてたんだって。

※不法（illegal）という表現を使わずに、証拠書類のない（undocumented）という単語を使用するのが適切と考えられる傾向がある。

"I wonder what they look like." 「どんな見た目をしてるのかな。」
"They got like fucking tear drops, they got a fucking swastika on the forehead.."「涙の入れ墨とか、ナチス紋章のタトゥーが額にあるんじゃねーの。」

民主党の知事から、囚人に対する学費を州の助成金を付与する提案がなされたようですが、「一般市民から多額の授業料を払わなければならなにのに、なぜ囚人が無料教育を受けることができるのか」という反対にあったようです。

機会に恵まれなかった囚人に対してチャンスを与えることに好意的な意見も・・・

"For me if you look at the type of demographic and the people who go into prison, a lot of times these people never had an opportunity to learn, I still believe it's doing good."
「俺としては、デモグラフィックの類型とか刑務所に入る人たちを見てみると、多くの場合、そういう人たちは学ぶ機会がなかったから、それでもいいことだと思うけどね。」

また市民の意見を擁護する意見も・・・

"If you look at it from like a whole big national scale, right, it is totally fair."
「全体の、大きな、国のスケールから見てみるとさあ、完全にフェアだよ。」

"It just sucks for the individual...people that worked their asses off and they did everything right 
「すげえ頑張ってすべて正しいことしたけど、金が払えないとか、

but because they can't afford it or other things, they can't get in college even though they fully deserve it."
そのほかのことで大学に入れないっていう人たちとっては最悪だよ。十分にふさわしいのさ。」

"You gotta figure out programs on how to rehabilitate but you also, you are kinda robbing the opportunity from the people who deserve it too."
「更生プログラムも考えなきゃいけないけど、ふさわしい人たちから機会を奪うみたいなことにもなるからね。」
